Waves On Rocky Shore

This painting is on the lastest Sister's Day with me n Aba. My brother Charlie was there too. We had a nice time hanging out.

I was in a bit of a painting slump and pulled out some old art books to get me going. This is from one of the art books, not an original, but has a bit of myself in it.

Painting slumps aren't necessarily bad things. There can be slumps in all areas of life. It's how you work with them that matters.

Find a way out of your slump no matter the reason or cause, no matter how difficult it may seem. There's always a way out.

Family isn't always blood. It's the people in your life who want you in theirs, the ones who accept you for who you are, the ones who like to see you smile and who love you no matter what.

New painting challenge painting added

Hi fellow painting challenge artists and all art lovers.  We have a new entry to our painting challenge from artist Julie.

Julie, you can add your painting details in the comments if you wish. It's really a lovely painting and very well done!!

If you scroll down you'll see that I added Julie's painting to the post where all of our paintings were grouped together.  Or you can click this link:  http://kimsdailypainting.blogspot.com/2016/06/all-four-painting-challenge-paintings.html

I feel that Julie deserves her own separate recognition of her awesome painting that we all had of our own paintings as well. Thank you, Julie, for joining in on our challenge. It's been a lot of fun and an interesting learning experience.

Four apples

This is an apple study from another Carole Marine video.

I changed it up just a bit by changing the order of the apples but other than that it's the same painting as in the video.  It's good to paint apples if you need to be refreshed and feel grounded in your painting. It always picks me up and puts me back on track.

Why do I say that? Because the apple is easy to paint with it's gentle contours and makes it easy to capture the darks and lights making it a breeze to paint. The confidence comes back, the creativity is refreshed.

Thanks Carole!
