The Birds

I was looking through my unfinished paintings and this one popped up as one I could manage with my recent shoulder and neck injury. If you've never had whiplash I pray you never do!

The oceanscape was already painted and just needed the attending seagulls who were happy to accommodate me and not give me a hard time actually looking like seagulls.

I'm not on any pain meds, that's my silly sense of humor talking.

When you have come to the edge of all the light you have and step into the darkness of the unknown, believe that  one of the two will happen to you; either you'll find something solid to stand on or you'll be taught how to fly.

Finding My Way

This is another painting that I painted virtually with my sister. We love painting this way when we can't be together.

I painted this so thick with oil paint that I had to wait a few days to finish it. I'm usually pretty good with wet-on-wet but this time I just couldn't manage it. Maybe I need to scrap my old brushes for some new ones. It must be the brushes, right? It can't be me. hee hee

Sunflowers!

The painting below highlights an experiment in painting loose and free. Pick up that brush and have some fun and cast your cares to the wind.

Thank you to the Art Sherpa for the inspiration and fun and relaxation this brought to me at a time when it was most welcomed!

The paintings below are obviously in the style of dear Vincent, a true treasure to us all and a grand master of his craft.

This one is a mini version of the above painting. I did it in acrylic so that I didn't have to wait to finish it. It's fun for the impatient.

The colors seem a bit washed out in the photo but they are just as bright as the painting above. Bad lighting will do that. And I know this is going to bug me until I fix it.

Hurricane Weather

I love the sea and all its many states of being. This is one angry sea. I don't know why the sea fascinates me so. I guess I find it challenging to capture and inspirational too. It touches something in me and makes me feel good.

Hark, now hear the sailors cry, smell the sea and feel the sky, let your soul and spirit fly, into the mystic....
