Cape May Sunset

This is a painting that I finished for the local spring art show in the Voorhees Town Center.  I did two other paintings for the show that I'll post as well. But I think that this may be my favorite.

It was fun to paint and also very soothing to me.  Maybe it was because I love visiting the beaches of NJ. Also sunsets are especially good for the well-being of the soul.  

The tide recedes but leaves behind bright seashells on the sand.  The sun goes down but gentle warmth still lingers on the land.  The music stops yet echoes on in sweet soulful refrains.  For every joy that passes something beautiful remains.

Poncho

This is a Boston Terrier I painted for my niece.  It is her dog, Poncho. I've done several portraits of this dog. He's very photogenic and his cuteness begs to be painted!
